A Boston woman who spotted a man allegedly using his smartphone to record video footage of several women, including herself, turned the tables on the creepy man when she decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.
On Thursday, as Jase Dillan took a stroll down Boston’s Newbury Street, she spotted the casually dressed man using his phone to zoom in on inappropriate private parts of several women. Dillan reported that at least two of his victims appeared to be underaged girls.
After she finally had enough, Dillan began walking behind the man with her smartphone in hand, while at the same time calling him out on what she’d just witnessed.
“What the f*** are you doing?” the unidentified man asked.
“I am videotaping you the way you were videotaping me,” Dillan confidently responded, giving him a taste of his own medicine.
The obviously uncomfortable man picked up his pace, hoping Dillan would go away, but she was persistent and even demanded to check his phone so that she could see all the footage she saw him allegedly take.
Warning: This video contains very graphic language.
Unsurprisingly, the man kept refusing Dillan and denied that he’d done anything wrong. She spotted a wedding ring on his finger and announced to him that she couldn’t wait to post her video on the Internet.
Turns out, that’s exactly what she did, and it went super viral, garnering over 2 million views in 48 hours.
According to the U.K. Daily Mail, Dillan has turned over her footage to the Boston police with the hopes that they would recover illicit footage he might have taken that day. Her ultimate hope in following the man and publicly shaming him was that he’d think twice before victimizing women in the future.
Cellphone cameras have been a blessing in communication, but a curse in the hands of voyeurs who prey on women and girls.
“It’s not normal,” Dillan said. “It shouldn’t be tolerated … No woman deserves that kind of treatment. No person deserves to be dehumanized and objectified.”
Hopefully, Dillan’s efforts — which were highly praised online — will take this alleged creep off the streets if he was, in fact, illegally filming women’s private areas, as has happened too often.
Please share this on Facebook and Twitter. Someone must know this man, and the more people see this video, the more likely it is that he will be identified and held accountable for his behavior.
