Trump Approval Passes Massive Milestone AFTER FL Shooting Response

Share

Despite a mass shooting in Florida that left 17 people dead, President Donald Trump’s approval rating surpassed a milestone.

A poll from Rasmussen on Friday showed that 50 percent of likely U.S. voters approve of the president’s job performance. That is five points higher than former President Barack Obama’s approval rating of 45 percent at the same date during his term.

“The latest figures include 34 percent who Strongly Approve of the way the president is performing and 41 percent who Strongly Disapprove,” the report said.

It would seem that voters are responding to Trump’s strong leadership after such a horrific tragedy.

Americans might also appreciate the president’s willingness to protect our rights while simultaneously arguing for stronger protections for our students by way of armed protection in schools.

Instead of calling for gun control after shootings like Obama would have done, Trump is actually pushing ideas that could work and don’t infringe on the Second Amendment.

And apparently, voters like the sound of these new ideas.

One of those ideas was allowing concealed carry on school campuses.

Do you think the president is doing a good job?

On Thursday, Trump revealed a four-step plan for stopping mass shootings, which called for tighter restrictions on certain types of weapons as well as improvements on mental health and background checks.

The Rasmussen report noted that following last week’s shooting, Democrats were calling for more gun control, pointing to a report which showed many Americans did not believe stricter gun control laws would reduce violent crime.

The report also showed that Americans do not trust the federal government when it comes to enforcing gun laws fairly. Only 24 percent of Americans trust the government to fairly enforce gun control laws. Fifty-eight percent would not trust the government’s ability to enforce those laws.

Friday’s Rasmussen report also mentioned how Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe has resulted in multiple indictments, but apparently Americans are not buying the narrative that Trump “colluded” with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.

Considering the fact that 90 percent of the mainstream media’s coverage of Trump is negative, an approval rating like this is remarkable. It only goes to show that voters are keenly aware of how biased the mainstream media is, and how little they fall for liberal tactics.

Of course, that doesn’t mean Democrats won’t stop trying to besmirch the president — it means they will double down on their attacks.
