Thugs Attack Father and His Kids... Don't Realize Dad's Packing

Share

When a Houston family was attacked by a group of gun-wielding thugs, they say the hooligans wanted their “swangas.” Instead, they ended getting a lesson in why you don’t mess with Texas.

“Swangas,” for those of you who aren’t in the know, are wire-spoke wheel rims currently en vogue for car modifiers. They can fetch thousands of dollars on the street, according to KTRK-TV.

And that’s why, the unidentified family said, they were almost carjacked — children and all — outside a taco stand on the city’s north side.

The attack happened on Tuesday at about 7 p.m. The father had gone into the Taqueria Mexico stand to order for the family, which included his wife and three children aged 3 to 8. As he came back with the food, the gunman came over to their car and pulled at the door.

“My daughter had told me, ‘Mom, I thought he was going to kill daddy,’ My daughter said that. My 8-year-old,” the mother told KTRK.

“Oh my gosh. It was horrible. You know he had the gun to my husband’s head. It felt like a nightmare. I’m like, ‘I can’t believe this is happening.'”

The gunman demanded the family get out of the car, which the father resisted. As soon as the children were safely away, he showed the gunman why messing with Texas — or Second Amendment-loving Texans — is a profoundly bad idea.

“I always carry a weapon in the cars,” the father said.

Do you support concealed carry for self-defense?

“As I started walking back, he jumps in the car. So when he jumped in the car, I went around the back of the car. I pulled the gun out. I loaded it. I put my hands inside the car and shot him.”

The father thinks that he hit the thug in the hand. The gunman dropped his weapon and he and another suspect fled the scene immediately.

Houston police are currently searching for three suspects, young men in their late teens or early 20s. The mother “described the first suspect as thin build with a thin mustache and about 5 feet 6 inches tall.”

She added that “the other man appeared to be in his early 20s with a fade. He was about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build.”

If you’re in Houston and have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477. However, if you’re not in Houston and reading this, just remember what the ultimate crime stopper is — the ability to defend yourself, courtesy of the Second Amendment.

In a dangerous world, where people are willing to die or risk jail time to steal tire rims off of a Chevy Impala, it’s important to be armed and know how and when to use your weapon.

It could end up saving more than your car. It could save a life.
