In one of the most shocking videos ever taken of a road rage event, two men engaged in an MMA-style street brawl after a lane dispute on a Los Angeles street that had traffic detectives investigating who the men were and why the violent showdown took place.
It all started on Highland Avenue next to Hollywood High School, when the driver of a Toyota Corolla stopped next to the driver of a Toyota Avalon at a stop light. The driver of the Avalon, on the left, was attempting to merge into the Corolla driver’s lane, but he obviously wasn’t having it.
A driver of a vehicle behind the two men captured the entire blowout on video, including the Corolla driver throwing a punch at the Avalon driver’s passenger window.
“It’s typical to see somebody yell or honk, but rarely do both guys get out of the vehicle and throw down in the middle of the street,” a witness told a local news reporter.
Simultaneously, after the Corolla driver punched the other driver’s passenger window, the two men jumped out of their vehicles and approached each other.
The Avalon driver was almost immediately knocked down and had he traveled just a few inches further backward, he would have been completely crushed by a van speeding in the opposite direction.
Even then, the driver of the Corolla didn’t stop his attack, but continued his flurry of powerful punches on the other driver who, at that point, was on the ground close to his car and struggling to regain control.
After roughly 20 punches from the Corolla driver, he walked back to his car and sped off. The Avalon driver composed himself as best he could, got back into his vehicle and drove away.
As the aggressor in the Corolla began driving away, the video showed another man running up to his vehicle in an attempt to begin a fight with him, but he was too late. Instead, he stood in the intersection and offered the rage-filled driver a middle finger instead.
According to traffic division detectives, no formal complaints or charges have been filed by either of the men involved (H/T The Blaze).
