It’s never a good idea to attempt to flee from a police officer. A high speed chase rarely ends well for the person being chased by the cops, and it often makes the situation even worse than if the person had just followed the cop’s orders.
Many times, high speed chases have ended in serious, life-threatening car wrecks, injuring or even killing those involved.
One man in Missouri recently wrecked his vehicle while leading a police officer on a high speed chase, and if not for the actions of the officer, he may have lost his life.
The Grandview, Missouri, police department released a dash camera video on Wednesday that showed officer Chris Golubski saving a man’s life on Sunday after he was ejected from his SUV following a brief highway chase.
Golubski had attempted to pull Michael Hunter-Moore over, but Hunter-Moore decided he would rather risk his life and run from the officer instead, according to Wide Blue Line. However, Hunter-Moore didn’t make it very far in the chase before the high speed caused him to lose control of his vehicle, wreck and flip over the median.
At some point during the terrible crash, Hunter-Moore was ejected from his SUV, flying through the air and landing several yards away from the vehicle.
Golubski can be seen on the video rushing to the driver’s side, but when he checked, Hunter-Moore no longer had a pulse. The quick-thinking police officer performed CPR until the paramedics arrived, and those actions have now been credited with saving Hunter-Moore’s life.
The driver was treated and is expected to recover from his injuries. Watch video of the horrific wreck and the cop’s heroic actions here:
Folks, just pull over for the police. Whatever ticket they issue isn’t worth losing your life trying to avoid.
