Security Footage Films Robbery, But It's the Voice Over That Has People Cracking Up

Share

Many people would probably think security footage of an apparently inebriated man attempting to break into a vehicle with a mop would be funny enough, but the play-by-play of the incident makes this video worthy of an award.

It all began with embarrassing incident Wednesday night in the parking lot of Seattle radio station KIRO.

The station posted the footage to Twitter the next afternoon. It showed a stumbling, yet determined, man attempting to break the window of pickup truck with a mop handle. Yes, a mop handle. The man struck the window several times, and even attempted to climb on top of a roof with the intention of breaking into the vehicle through the sun roof.

Needless, to say, he failed — big time. When attempting to jump on the roof from a ramp, he fell and knocked himself out cold.

Sportscaster John Curley added his play-by-play narration to the video as if it were a sporting event, and it’s hilarious.

“There’s a gentleman, who’s got himself a mop and a mop handle and he’s pointing it towards a window of a pick-up truck,” Curley said.

“He’s got his stance, shoulder-length apart. And he bangs the mop at the top of the window! He hits and resets. He’s got his feet now, moving apart, looking just to the right, check to make sure no one’s around. And he now, positions the mop again,” he continued.

Do you think John Curley should do more voice overs for videos like this?

This has got to be the funniest play-by-play ever recorded.

Apparently, the suspect got away and is still at large.

The station reported on Twitter that the suspect stayed on the ground for 17 minutes, then “just got up and ran away.”

KIRO added that no one knew about the incident until until the station’s engineer reviewed security footage Thursday morning.

This vandal might have gotten away, but there is little doubt that he felt the pain from that fall when he woke up the following morning.
