A man in the Swedish city of Stockholm was caught on surveillance camera giving a mother of two a sick public lesson at a subway station last week after she interrupted his attempt to rob an elderly pensioner walking up a set of stairs.
According to The Local, when the mother, who was walking down the same set of stairs, saw the man creeping up behind the pensioner, getting ready to rob her, she rushed to the other side of the stairway to warn the lady.
This irritated the man, who then pushed the brave good Samaritan in the face, spit on her and even kicked her in the groin, right in front of her two children.
“I have worked as a police officer for over 40 years, this is among the worst things I have seen,” a local police officer told reporters. “I will get him, if it’s the last thing I do.”
He meant it too. Using surveillance footage from the attack, his team was quickly able to identify the perpetrator, track him down and then arrest him on Friday.
Unfortunately, despicable crimes like this have become rather commonplace in Sweden, courtesy the untold numbers of refugees who keep pouring across the country’s borders. And the sad truth is that the woman in Stockholm was one of the luckier one. At least she wasn’t raped or murdered.
Sadder still is that Sweden hosts some of the most draconian gun laws in the world, so citizens who want to protect themselves with a firearm must jump through endless hurdles before they can do so.
For a country teeming with so much crime, its legislators would be wise to consider drastically loosening up gun restrictions — and tightening up their approach to immigration.
