Revealed: Truth About Shooter's Background Surfaces

Editor’s Note: Since this story was published, it has come to light that The Associated Press spread an unsubstantiated narrative linking gunman Nikolas Cruz to a white supremacist group. Police confirmed that they have found no information linking Cruz to the group.

As more details are reported about the past of the man suspected of committing Wednesday’s mass murder on the campus of a Florida high school, Americans are getting an idea of just how out of it Nikolas Cruz really is.

According to an Associated Press report Thursday afternoon, the leader of a fringe group of white supremacists in Florida has claimed Cruz as a member, but denies the group had any role in the bloodshed itself.

Jordan Jereb, the 22-year-old small-time criminal and head of a group called that calls itself the Republic of Florida, told the AP that Cruz was a member who had participated in some of the group’s exercises in the Tallahassee area.

Jordan also said he thought the 19-year-old Cruz had “trouble with a girl” and that the fact that the attack occurred on Valentine’s Day might have not been a coincidence.

There’s no doubt that this news of a “white supremacist” tie to the killings at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School killings — if it’s even true – will spur the already unhinged left in this country to new depths of idiocy.

Remember, it was the acts of an utterly deranged young man about the same age as Cruz – Dylann Roof, now 23 – that set off a wave of hysteria across the United States when he murdered nine innocent churchgoers at the Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, on June 17, 2015. For that, he received a richly deserved death sentence.

Roof’s avowed loyalty to the idea of “white supremacy,” as well as social media photos of Roof with a Confederate flag was a major spur to the movement to take down Confederate statues of generals and statesman throughout the South.

It also gave liberals a chance to smear conservatives and supporters of then-candidate Donald Trump with the taint of racism.

Do you think white supremacy played a role in the shooting?

The charge was as baseless then as it’s going to be when Democrats and their media allies bring it with Cruz – as they inevitably will.

That’s not going to stop the attacks though, just like it didn’t stop the Clinton White House of the 1990s from stoking fears of right-wing murderers by invoking the “Michigan Militia” after it couldn’t realistically pin the blame of the Oklahoma City bombing on Rush Limbaugh.

That’s because liberals love to link conservatives with violence, even though the vast majority of political violence in this country is committed by the left. Check out this New York magazine piece (no John Bircher pamphlet there) for an explanation of how Clinton deliberately used McVeigh’s murder to smear conservatives and save his own sorry presidency.

But before the left can go all Confederate-statue crazy here, take a look at one of the top times that the so-called Republic of Florida was in the news – before Thursday’s attention grabbing AP report.

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, this same Jordan Jareb was arrested in Tallahassee in 2016 and charged with threatening a “high-ranking staff member of Gov. Rick Scott’s office” over a $60 debt.

At the time, he was on probation for a 2014 burglary conviction, the Democrat reported.

At the risk of leaping to conclusions, guys on probation for burglary who threaten Republican governor staffers over an alleged $60 the staffer’s son owes don’t sound like they’re about to plunge the country into a nightmare of fascist rule.

Even the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization that has built a fortune hyping warnings about American “hate groups” couldn’t take the guy seriously when Jareb begged them for attention back in 2014, according to an SPLC “Intelligence Report” item. (Watch how quick that story changes now that there’s a buck to be made on it.)

In short, they sound like losers – exactly the kind of loser Dylann Roof is, and exactly the kind of loser anyone who espouses a so-called “white supremacist” ideology is.

As much as liberals refuse to accept it, there’s nothing “conservative” about racism, “white supremacy” or fascism. The Nazis were socialists (it’s right there in the name), the Italian fascists were socialists too. And the American Confederacy was the Democrat Party of the time with its own army and a fake “constitution.”

Democrats and the media could well go crazy over this “white supremacist” tie for Nikolas Cruz, but the AP’s story – again, if it’s even true — really just brings out a bigger truth about his background.

He’s a loser who associated with losers and might even have trained in loser “exercises.”

And if Florida’s history of capital punishment is any guide, he’s going to die a loser – and not soon enough.
