Planned Parenthood Wants Your Kids' Role Models to Have Had Abortions

Share

It’s a long way from Ariel.

The nationwide abortion mill known as Planned Parenthood is a heavyweight in Democrat Party politics, where a woman’s right to “choose” to end a pregnancy has been a sacred cow for decades.

But when one affiliate stuck its toe into the children’s entertainment field with a now deleted tweet pushing the idea that the heroine of a children’s movie should have a least one abortion in her past, it went too far.

According to USA Today, a branch of Planned Parenthood in eastern Pennsylvania published a Twitter post this week outlining the qualities liberals should be looking for in a new Disney princess.

And suffice it to say, it’s not exactly “The Little Mermaid.”

In fact, the proposed character checks off box after box of Democrats’ cherished identity politics.

But it was the first one that is so outrageous it’s stomach-turning: “We need a disney princess who’s had an abortion.”

Check out @PPKeystone’s tweet here:

Should the federal government stop funding Planned Parenthood?

The tweet was Planned Parenthood’s attempt to be part of a social media craze describing non-traditional Disney princesses. BuzzFeed collected a partial list of some of the alternate Disney princesses that can be found here. Some are funny, some are sharp, but none of the others make even veiled a reference to murdering babies.

Revolting as it is, it makes you wonder why other Democrat-favored demographics got left off the list. Why not a Disney princess who kills cops while the officers are guarding a Black Lives Matter march, for instance?

Or maybe a Disney princess who enters the country illegally and rapes children?

The tweet drew a storm of criticism on Twitter.

Donald Trump Jr., for instance, weighed in asking the obvious: Why not let kids just be kids?

Well, letting kids be kids is not exactly Planned Parenthood’s business model. In fact, not letting kids be kids – or be at all – is pretty much what Planned Parenthood is all about. Yet it’s the organization Republicans in the House, Senate and White House keep giving taxpayer money to.

According to the Pennsylvania Family Institute, the Planned Parenthood that wrote the tweet received over $3 million in taxpayer funding for their 2014-2015 fiscal year — 25 percent of their total revenue.

In a lame attempt at explaining the tweet away, Melissa Reed, the president and CEO of Keystone Planned Parenthood, issued a statement claiming the group was “championing stories that too often don’t get told.”

“Upon reflection, we decided that the seriousness of the point we were trying to make was not appropriate for the subject matter or context, and we removed the tweet,” the statement said, according to WABC.

It’s interesting to think of a Planned Parenthood executive reflecting on “the stories that don’t get told,” considering that thanks to the group, more than 300,000 children a year never live to see their first day on earth. That’s a whole lot of bedtime stories that will never be told.

Like everything else Planned Parenthood does, the “princess” tweet quickly became engulfed in controversy. On “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning, conservative commentator Michelle Malkin nailed it.

“Can’t we have a safe space from that PC insanity?” Malkin asked.

This guy has a pretty good answer.

Liberals might quibble with the “Christian” part, or the gun ownership part, but the reality of the idea is basically universal. Disney built a global marketing empire based on wholesome characters striving, or learning, to be the best person they can be.

That’s what Ariel did, and she even had a baby daughter of her own, much as Planned Parenthood would hate it.
