Pictures: Woman Walked Away From Deadly Grand Canyon Copter Crash
After three people died when a helicopter crashed during a Grand Canyon tour, images of a woman who walked away from the deadly crash have surfaced.
According to the Daily Mail U.K., a British veterinary receptionist, her fiance and his brother were killed Saturday when the helicopter they were in crashed and exploded during a sightseeing tour of the Grand Canyon.
According to the Arizona Republic, the crash occurred about 5:30 p.m. in an area known as Quartermaster Canyon on the Hualapai Reservation.
Becky Dobson, her fiance, Stuart Hill, and Hill’s brother, Jason Hill, died.
Four others who were on the helicopter, Jennifer Barham, pilot Scott Booth, and newlyweds Ellie Milward and Jonathan Udall miraculously survived.
Dobson and the Hills had traveled to Arizona from England to see the Grand Canyon to celebrate Stuart’s birthday.
The Rev. David Hill, whose two sons died in the crash, told The Daily Mail: “The boys had been saving for over a year for this trip and they were really looking forward to it.”
“They were truly loved by lots of people,” he told the U.K. Evening Standard.
“They were incredibly close, and as parents we feel blessed to have had them, but a light has truly gone out.”
During their sightseeing expedition, a storm developed that produced winds that reportedly exceeded 50 mph.
This reportedly caused the helicopter to crash.
But photos of one woman emerging from the explosion and wreckage have gone viral have been picked up by social media around the world:

And it looks like something typically seen in movies.
“It is unclear whether the survivor pictured fleeing the wreckage is Ms. Barham or Ms. Milward,” the Daily Mail reports.
Nevertheless, photos show the woman staggering out of the inferno as she is trying to reach safety. The photo is jaw-dropping and illustrates how surreal the tragic situation was.
Hualapai Nation Police Chief Francis Bradley Sr. said the rough terrain and conditions hampered first responders from immediately helping those injured in the crash.
He said it took roughly nine hours for the injured individuals to make it to a nearby hospital for treatment.
“First responders had to be flown in and walk to the crash site. Quartermaster Canyon is an extremely remote area. We had to call in specially trained crews – people with night-vision goggles,” he said.
Any deadly crash like this is a tragedy. But one that happens for a groupo celebrating at a national landmark like the Grand Canyon seems worse.
The survivors of this tragic accident are very, very lucky. And the survivors of the victims could use our prayers.
