Obama Flashback: Jobs NOT Coming Back Under Trump

Share

Remember when former President Barack Obama mocked then Republican nominee Donald Trump for unveiling his plans to create millions of new jobs?

In a June 2016 town hall style forum, Obama was asked about Carrier Corp. jobs leaving Indiana.

Specifically, Obama was asked about comments made by then-candidate Trump that he would bring Carrier jobs — among many others — back to the United States with his economic policies.

A man named Eric Cunningham said he noticed manufacturing jobs were leaving the country, with jobs no where to be found in Indianapolis.

Obama responded by not only denigrating Trump, but also by mocking his ambitious economic agenda and suggesting he would never be able to bring jobs back in the large numbers he suggested.

“When somebody says like the person you just mentioned who I’m not going to advertise for, that he’s going to bring all these jobs back. Well how exactly are you going to do that? What are you going to do? There’s no answer to it,” Obama said, refusing to even say Trump’s name.

“He just says, ‘I’m going to negotiate a better deal.’ Well how? How exactly are you going to negotiate that? What magic wand do you have? And usually the answer is, he doesn’t have an answer,” Obama continued condescendingly.

Do you think Trump is responsible for the booming economy?

Well, those remarks sure have come back to bite Obama — Trump is growing jobs, and fast.

As noted by CNN, Trump has created 184,000 manufacturing jobs since taking office. Not only that, but the GOP passed the largest tax reform bill in nearly thirty years under the Trump administration, which has resulted in at least 164 companies already rewarding their employees because of the tax cuts, which will take effect in February.

Sorry Obama, just because you had no idea how to bring jobs back doesn’t mean no one can.

Trump may not have had a magic wand, as Obama suggested, but he does have good economic sense.

In his first year, we have seen jobs — including manufacturing — flooding back to our country, our economy is booming, the markets have broken records since Trump took office, and the GOP tax bill will allow a vast majority of Americans to keep more of their own money.
