Germany has been rocked recently by a string of horrifically deadly, but relatively small-scale terrorist attacks, and as one would expect, tensions are thick in the country right now.
On Friday, a lone gunman reportedly of Iranian descent opened fire on innocent men, women and children in and around a mall in Munich, killing nine and wounding 16 others before taking the cowardly way out with one of his own bullets.
Mourners were gathered at a makeshift memorial outside the mall over the weekend to pay tribute to the victims, but their quiet moment of dignified respect for the lost was rudely interrupted when some young Muslim men began shouting the jihadist battle cry of “Allahu Akbar,” according to TheBlaze, which cited an Italian news report.
That repeated utterance earned a sharp and expletive-laced rebuke from several angry Germans in the crowd. (CAUTION: Explicit language)
The incident was captured on video by a reporter for Italian news outlet Il Fatto Quotidiano, who subsequently posted the shocking video of the disruption at the memorial.
Other than the clearly heard curse words in English, much of the heated conversation that arose between the angry Germans and a Muslim man was in German with a dash of Arabic.
The German men must have been saying something right though, as their retorts earned several smatterings of applause from the gathered crowd.
Things eventually became a bit too heated though, as a line of police officers moved in and began separating the crowd, at which point the video ended.
Tensions in Europe are dangerously near or already at a boiling point, and it likely won’t take much more for the pent-up frustrations to begin spilling over in response to what can only be described as acts of war against Western civilization by radical Islamists.
