'March for Our Lives' Organizer Has Sickening Message for Teens Who Disagree

Share

This is how liberals really feel about the rest of America.

Saturday’s “March for Our Lives” demonstration in the nation’s capital and cities throughout the country is being billed by a fawning mainstream media as a grassroots effort aimed at protecting all Americans from the threat of “gun violence.”

But in an NPR interview Friday, one of the moment’s best-known spokesmen let the real truth slip out.

The moment came when 17-year-old Cameron Kasky, a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, was asked how he would respond to people his own age who disagreed with the national gun control hysteria that’s swept the country since the Feb. 14 shootings at the school.

“I’ve read some really interesting op-eds by students about your age who say, you know, ‘I’m growing up in rural America. Guns are part of my family’s culture. I like target shooting. I don’t think guns are a bad thing,’” “Morning Edition” host Noel King began.

“What do you say to a 17-year-old who fundamentally disagrees with you about some of this stuff?” King asked.

Kasky’s answer was chilling – and sickening.

“Well, I say we’re marching to protect you from other people like you who have guns,” the arrogant teenager answered. “And I say that target shooting, while it is a sport, we’ve become the targets.”

And that gives the game away.

Are these teenagers being used by left-wing political groups?

There’s no diversity of thought allowed in this movement, no room for good-faith disagreement. Like communists at their worst, dissent from the orthodox beliefs is evidence of a disturbed mind. “Tolerance” is reserved only for those who agree with their leaders.

To the gun grabbers, no matter how they dress it up in high-sounding language, the crux of the argument boils down to the fact that they’re willing to argue that anyone – literally anyone – who owns a gun in the United States is a potential mass killer.

To the gun grabbers, maniacs like the 19-year-old who committed the Parkland massacre aren’t aberrations. They’re representative of millions and millions of Americans who exercise their constitutional rights to own firearms for the own protection, and for the protection of their families.

And the only thing a responsible government can do when it’s faced with a horde of citizenry bent on destruction is to set up the stiffest possible controls.

In the liberal mindset, Americans who possess firearms aren’t simply free citizens exercising a God-given freedom that’s guaranteed under the Second Amendment, they’re potentially murderous criminal who need the strong hand of the state to control their every move.

To be fair, Kasky and his cohorts are only teenagers enjoying the thrill of sudden celebrity – being on the cover of Time magazine and winning adulation from adoring public has to be heady stuff for kids.

They might even think they’re sincere, but teenage sincerity, like teenage love, tends to be a fleeting thing.

In short, they’re fools, but they’re children.

The most sickening part of Kasky’s declaration is that it’s what’s really behind the manipulations that have made the anti-gun movement the left’s latest insulting assault on the majority of the American people.

Under left-wing direction, the Black Lives Matter gangsters preached that white Americans at heart are racists who harbor an oppressive hatred of all blacks. Under left-wing direction, the Women’s March harridans (and their #MeToo sisters) shriek that all men are sexual predators.

Now, under the behind-the-scenes control of national liberal groups, the March for Our Lives naïfs are going the final step, to declare that Americans who believe in their right to self-defense are actually murderers in their souls.

In the liberal mind, every one of these characteristics means more need for government wardens, more need for the state to control the lives of individuals, more need for a totalitarian system to turn free citizens into abject subjects.

It took an overconfident, arrogant teenager to let it slip with a sympathetic interviewer, but there it is:

It’s what liberals really feel about the rest of America.
