After Man Gets Free 'Reparations' Coffee, He Makes Jaw-Dropping Statement on Racism

Share

As the left’s obsession with identity politics compels them to inevitably eat their own, Starbucks has come under intense fire by progressives and liberals following an allegedly racist incident in which two black men at a Philadelphia store were arrested after taking up a table and refusing to order any drinks.

In a move to push back against the bad publicity of that incident, Starbucks announced the mother of all virtue signals: it will close down all of its 8,000 stores and corporate offices on May 29 in order to hold mandatory “racial-bias training” for all 175,000 employees, according to USA Today.

The notion of “white guilt” — a sentiment held by white progressives who feel personally guilty for slavery and racism that occurred long ago — just compelled a social media comedian to take full advantage of his “black privilege” to exploit the “white guilt” of Starbucks employees, as reported by Dangerous.

Bryan Sharpe, better known by his Twitter handle of “Hotep Jesus,” posted online a video of how he managed to score a free coffee from Starbucks by demanding reparations for slavery and racism while playing off the inherent sense of guilt and gullibility of the young white barista.

Cell phone camera rolling, Sharpe entered the Starbucks and approached the counter and bluntly stated, “I heard y’all was racist, so I came to get my free coffee.”

“I heard ya’ll don’t like black people, so I came to get my Starbucks reparations voucher,” he added, a reference to phony “reparations” coupons circulating in online forums that purport to grant a free beverage to customers of African-American heritage as a sort of “apology” for racism.

The barista initially questioned whether it was “a real thing,” but noted that she had seen it in her Twitter feed the previous night and decided to give Sharpe his free coffee, which she brewed up while making pleasant conversation with the man.

“That’s what I’m talking about, this is justice,” declared Sharpe as the barista prepared his drink. “Reparations man. Gotta get my reparations for being black in America. Black Lives Matter.”

Do you think this was a great way to expose the absurdity of the progressive left?

The young woman only chuckled and echoed that “black lives do matter” as she agreed to add some milk and caramel flavoring to his coffee.

In the end, Sharpe actually handed off his free coffee to a young black boy and then proclaimed, “You gotta get your free coffee out here, gotta get your Starbucks reparations, this is how we do, black lives matter, baby.”

Just a few moments later Sharpe tweeted, “Black privilege gets me free coffee. I love racism. Only in America.”

It must be pointed out that Sharpe did all of this as a tongue-in-cheek joke to expose and mock the utter absurdity of the progressive left’s infatuation with “white privilege,” “white guilt” and “white supremacy.”

Far too many leftists, whether they consciously realize it or not, have surrendered themselves to the notion that their skin color, and the skin color of others, is the most important attribute of all, one that can grant certain “privileges” not generally afforded to others.

In this case, a black man used the “black privilege” granted him by progressives to exploit the “white guilt” of a Starbucks barista and gain himself a free coffee. As Sharpe himself said, “only in America” can this sort of ridiculousness occur.
