Liberals Freak When They See Who Trump Put in Charge of "Family Planning" Budget

When Barack Obama was in the White House, the most pro-abortion president in American history was infamous for telling Republicans “elections have consequences.”
Now, a year into Donald Trump’s tenure in the Oval Office, abortion mills like Planned Parenthood and free-contraception fanatics in the mainstream media are finding out just how true that is.
Because it’s cutting off their gravy train of taxpayer dollars.
In a policy shift that upends a practice that is over 30 years old, the Trump administration will have only one person making the final decision on what groups are eligible to receive federal family planning funds, according to Politico.
And that person is a long-time advocate of the one method guaranteed to prevent unwanted pregnancies – as well as sexually transmitted diseases and the psychological damage of young people getting in over their heads sexually long before they’re ready.
Valerie Huber, the assistant secretary for population at the Department of Health and Human Services, is best known on the national scene as a champion of reinforcing the idea of abstinence from sex as a birth control method.
Liberals can’t stand her, but conservatives should be cheering.
“Applying public health messaging to the too-contentious sex education debate is long overdue,” Huber wrote in an op-ed published by The Daily Caller in October 2016, back when the whole political world expected Hillary Clinton to be the 45th president of the United States.
“The healthiest message for youth is one that gives youth the skills and information to avoid the risks of teen sex, not merely reduce them. This is the kind of message we give to youth when we encourage them not to smoke, to exercise more, and to avoid underage drinking.”
It’s logical — no one tells teens “don’t smoke so much.” So naturally, liberals reject that outright.
In a country where the entertainment industry has been marketing sex as a product for decades – but is now shocked at rampant sexual “harassment” – the idea of abstinence as a birth control method cannot be accepted.
The simple truths that it’s the oldest birth control method known and absolutely cannot fail means nothing to allegedly science-worshiping progressives (to say nothing of it being blessed by the world’s major religions).
More to the point, the fact that it’s absolutely free cuts into the market Planned Parenthood and its sister organizations have carved out for themselves as the middleman between the government and teenagers for contraceptives.
And to make matters worse for the liberal grifters, Huber is the person standing between $286 million in federal Title X money, which funds family planning services for poor women, and the traditionally liberal, pro-abortion organizations like Planned Parenthood that have been the beneficiaries of it.
The mainstream media is playing up the Planned Parenthood complaints.
“It reads as them trying to stack the deck against any specialized reproductive health provider,” Planned Parenthood spokeswoman Erica Sackin told ABC.
“This is unprecedented, and has dangerous implications,” Kashif Syed, a senior analyst at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, told Politico.
“We’re talking about a program that 4 million people rely on for basic reproductive health care — or in many cases, their only form of health care. Now is not the time to play politics with people’s lives — but that’s exactly what the Trump-Pence administration is doing.”
Actually, a Planned Parenthood analyst isn’t exactly to be trusted talking about playing “politics with people’s lives.”
His organization does it as a business model – and more than 300,000 babies lose their lives every year because of it. (It’s what Sackin called “specialized reproductive health.”)
Planned Parenthood and other abortion groups aren’t supposed to get federal funding for abortions, but they get plenty of it for supposedly unrelated operations.
Trump’s move putting Huber in charge of where federal family planning money goes is one more step toward cutting those groups off from the taxpayer dime.
Because elections have consequences.
