Alarming Issues at Stake in the 2018 Midterm Elections

Share

Although it often seems as if the 2016 election season just ended, the 2018 midterm elections are right around the corner.

It goes without saying that in order for President Donald Trump and Republicans to continue implementing a conservative agenda and keep Democrat obstruction at bay, they need to retain their majorities in the House of Representatives and the Senate, making this set of midterm elections absolutely crucial.

Not only is control of Congress and the agenda at stake, but so too are a number of important issues, such as the incessant anti-Trump media bias, illegal immigration and border security, a full repeal of Obamacare, gun control, tax reform, the First Amendment and religious liberty, as well as a host of other important topics.

All of those and more will up for discussion at this year’s Western Conservative Conference, scheduled to take place March 23-24 in Phoenix, Arizona, in what has become known as the “premier gathering of conservatives in the western United States.”

The conference will include over 35 high-profile keynote speakers and 10 different workshops for the estimated 2,000-plus attendees and activists representing more than 30 different conservative organizations.

Sponsors of the event include organizations such as the National Rifle Association, the Heritage Foundation, FreedomWorks, Judicial Watch, the Western Center for Journalism and many others.

A few noteworthy speakers confirmed to be in attendance at the event include former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe, former presidential candidate Herman Cain, Citizens United chairman and president David Bossie, former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, USA Radio and Western Center for Journalism chair Floyd Brown, former Tucson police officer and Conservative Tribune spokesman Brandon Tatum, The Western Journal’s executive editor George Upper, radio host Wayne Allen Root and many others.

A few conservative politicians expected to attend and speak include WCC co-chair and Arizona state Treasurer Jeff DeWit, fellow co-chair and Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs, Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar and Virginia Rep. Dave Brat.

Other invited politicians who have yet to confirm their attendance included Arizona Rep. David Schweikert, Texas Rep. Brian Babin and California Rep. Duncan Hunter.

Do you plan to attend the Western Conservative Conference in Phoenix in March?

Potential attendees from the Republican Party and Trump administration include Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, White House advisor Kellyanne Conway and Small Business Administration Secretary Linda McMahon.

According to WND, speaking invitations have also been extended to President Trump and first lady Melania Trump, as well as iconic conservative Hollywood actor and director Clint Eastwood, though their attendance has yet to be confirmed.

Considering all that is at stake in this year’s elections, this conference presents an excellent opportunity for conservatives in the western states and beyond to gather together for enlightening discussions that will give them a better handle on the most pressing issues of the day.

It is also a great opportunity for those same conservatives to have a chance at meeting the incredible line-up of guest speakers in attendance, as the expected crowd is of a bit more manageable size than other similar conservative gatherings.

It cannot be stressed enough how crucially important the 2018 midterm elections are for Republicans in general and the conservative agenda in particular, as the veritable future of our nation is at stake.
