Ingraham Returns, Confirms She's Still Libs' Public Enemy #1

She wasn’t holding back.

When Fox News host Laura Ingraham returned to prime time Monday night, she showed no signs of being wounded by the extended “boycott” fight  that erupted just before she went on a weeklong break.

In fact, she was stronger than ever.

In a ringing endorsement of the country’s principles of free speech and the First Amendment, Ingraham devoted the first 10 minutes of “The Ingraham Angle” to describing the road to totalitarianism today’s liberals are trying to take the country down.

And with only a glancing mention or two about her own highly publicized battle with the proto-fascists of modern American liberalism, she made it clear that she wasn’t backing down one bit.

Building her argument like the lawyer she is (she was a clerk in 1992 for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas), Ingraham started with the chill that descended on American campuses during the Reagan presidency and brought it up to the current day.

And her conclusion was something every conservative understands.

“Expressing views that just five or 10 years ago were considered mainstream can now get you fired,” Ingraham said.

“It can cause you to lose a promotion. You can get branded a hater. Or, yes, you can get boycotted.”

Check out the segment here:

As the hysteria that swept the country after February’s school shootings at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, showed, too much of the American media today is willing to take part in silencing a large portion of the American public simply for holding views that the elite disagree with.

Ingraham pointed out that Americans who believe in the Second Amendment and their God-given rights — and other conservative ideas — are so routinely mocked in the entertainment world that even a liberal like HBO’s Bill Maher feels obligated to speak out in their defense.

“If 40 to 50 percent of the country feels like their right to free expression is less worthy of protection than that of any garden-variety leftist, where does that leave our First Amendment?” Ingraham asked. “As a shell of its former self is the answer.”

Do you agree with Laura Ingraham about the threats to conservatives' First Amendment rights?

That might actually be an answer liberals are comfortable with — their respect for the First Amendment guarantees of free speech, of religion and of the press are about equal to their support for the Second Amendment right to bear arms.

Religious liberty is a quaint anachronism to a political movement that despises Christian bakers who don’t wish to make cakes for gay weddings. To liberals, freedom of speech is reserved for liberal speakers. Freedom of the press has largely escaped liberal censure, but that’s mainly because the largest, most influential newspapers routinely toe the liberal line.

Ingraham’s final words of the segment sounded the trumpet for conservatives who believe in the Founders’ vision for the country.

“My friends, something alarming is taking place,” she said. “The free speech clause of our Constitution doesn’t just apply to speech that our elites deem acceptable.

“We indeed are reaching a crisis point. Where cultural walls are now being erected, to conscript and still free speech in America.

“But we cannot let this continue.”

On her first day after a return many liberals tried in vain to prevent, Ingraham made it clear she wasn’t holding back in the fight to maintain Americans’ First Amendment freedoms.

And it’s a good bet her viewers feel the same.
