Illegal Immigrant Stares at Victims' Families, Promises Bloodshed During Cop-Killing Verdict

Share

Charles Manson may have finally worked his way out of the California penal system in a coffin, much to the relief of many. Unfortunately, the Golden State may have found a new waste of carbon to serve as its epitome of evil.

Luis Bracamontes, an illegal immigrant who killed two police officers during a one-day 2014 crime spree, became a household name when he bragged in court about killing the deputies and pledged he would kill more.

It probably shocked no one that Bracamontes was found guilty of the killings of Sacramento County sheriff’s Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County sheriff’s Deputy Michael Davis Jr. What did shock everyone, however, was what he said to the victims’ family after the verdict was read.

According to The Associated Press, Bracamontes turned to the families of the slain cops and said, “Yay,” as the guilty verdicts were read to the courtroom on Friday.

As he was led away from from the Sacramento courtroom under heavy security, Bracamontes had yet another threat: “I’m going to kill more cops soon,” the convicted murderer said.

Bracamontes’ trial attracted national attention after the defendant made several outbursts in the courtroom in which he expressed no remorse for killing the police officers during a spree which also netted him attempted murder, carjacking and weapons violations convictions.

Oliver was killed by Bracamontes on Oct. 24, 2014 outside of a hotel. Davis was killed later in the day after a massive manhunt. Bracamontes would eventually surrender after a standoff with law enforcement.

During the trial, Bracamontes called one police officer who took cover a “coward” and made light of the situation numerous times — often in vulgar, threatening language.

“I killed f****** cops. They’re f****** dead. I don’t f****** regret that,” Bracamontes said at one point during the trial, according to CBS News.

Do you think Luis Bracamontes deserves the death penalty?

Bracamontes would later tell the courtroom that “I will break out soon and I will kill more.” He also expressed a desire to murder more police officers.

Bracamontes was removed from the courtroom during the outbursts, but his fate was more or less sealed (inasmuch as it hadn’t been already). Prosecutors are now seeking the death penalty for Bracamontes, while Bracamontes’ legal team has argued their client is mentally ill and was high on methamphetamine when he committed the crimes.

The AP also noted that “(p)ublic defenders Jeffrey Barbour and Norm Dawson argued unsuccessfully that anti-immigrant sentiment prompted by Trump made it unlikely that Bracamontes could get a fair trial.”

Bracamontes would later “star” in an advertisement released by Trump’s White House, arguing that Democrats who were soft on illegal immigration were “complicit in any murders” committed by illegal immigrants like Bracamontes.

Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones, who unsuccessfully sought a seat in Congress as a Republican, tried to downplay the fact that Bracamontes had been deported multiple times.

“The fact that he’s an illegal alien or an undocumented immigrant, been removed four times, that doesn’t make him evil. He is evil because he’s a despicable human being that just happens to be here illegally,” Sheriff Jones said.

All of that is totally true, and being an illegal immigrant certainly doesn’t make him more evil. That might not even be possible. However, it does place some of the onus for his crimes on politicians who refuse to secure the border or to deal harshly with those who are deported and subsequently re-enter.

Hardly any illegal immigrants are evil, and certainly not in the way Luis Bracamontes is. Few human beings are capable of that kind of malice, in fact, save for the aforementioned Mr. Manson.

When an illegal immigrant like Mr. Bracamontes comes along, however, it’s vitally important we hold those who are responsible for the conditions that allowed him to be in this country responsible. The families of the victims deserve no less.

Rot in hell, Mr. Bracamontes — and the sooner the lifeless, wasted carbon atoms you’ve been taking up leave the confines of the California penal system for good, the better.
