Hollywood Legend Compares Trump to Pagan God of Feces

Share

Remember “when they go low, we go high?” That short-lived motto shared by Michelle Obama has apparently fallen out of favor with the left — but then again, maybe they never actually believed it.

During a recent appearance in Iran, far-left filmmaker Oliver Stone decided to smear President Trump and compare him to an infamous mythical demon.

“Having once compared former President George W. Bush to John Wayne, the filmmaker told a local journalist that he would have to liken Trump to ‘Beelzebub,’ a name sometimes given to the devil,” explained The Hollywood Reporter.

You’ve probably heard that devilish name before — Beelzebub, not Oliver Stone — but might not know its origin. According to a historical text on the topic, that name actually refers to a pagan god of feces.

“Beelzebub, which means fly Lord, or Lord of the fly, was the name of a famous god of Ekron, as referred to in IV Kings 1,” explains the book on the topic housed in the University of Michigan.

“The Jews, who were horrified by this idol, would call it the devil beelzebub; one reads nevertheless in most Greek versions of the New Testament beelzebul, or god of excrement,” continued that source.

Oliver Stone, who is famous for leftist films like “JFK” and “Nixon,” may be many things but he is no dimwit. Ivy League educated, there’s a pretty good chance he knew exactly what he was calling the president when he branded Trump the leader of flies and human feces.

Unsurprisingly, Stone took a chance during his Iran visit to slam American foreign policy and bemoan its culture.

“National security trumps artistic freedom in every country, the U.S. as well as in the Middle East,” he whined. “You can’t make a film critical of U.S. foreign policy.”

Has Hollywood become even more bitter and unpatriotic than past decades?

Yes, the filmmaker behind the Bush-mocking movie “W,” an insider from the same Hollywood that has made dozens of films critical of U.S. foreign policy, was complaining about American artistic freedom while standing in Iran. On second thought, maybe he is a dimwit after all.

Perhaps the real lesson from elitists like Stone is just how bitter and far left they have become, while completely convinced that they are moderates.

The filmmaker and his ilk see nothing wrong with calling the U.S. president a “feces demon” while staying as a guest in a nation that still stones women and routinely executes gay people. He believes he’s enlightened.

Stone doesn’t see the hypocrisy of building a famous career based on challenging authority and criticizing those in power, and then acting as if he’s oppressed and persecuted by America.

You might think that Stone would be the biggest defender of the United States and a critic of Iran, a country so repressive that almost none of the director’s films are allowed to play there. Instead, it’s the opposite.

In many ways, Oliver Stone has become a tragically uncool hipster. Like a middle-aged man trying to wear acid jeans, he’s a washed-up contrarian, attacking successful and open cultures like America while paying lip service to true hellholes like Iran. It’s a desperate show to signal how “progressive” and “enlightened” he is.

Many liberals like Stone are so out of touch that they cannot even recognize how bitter they are anymore. Attacking the president from inside one of the most oppressive countries on earth might not register as a problem for the left, but the rest of America is paying attention.
