Hogg Silent After Pro-Gun Parkland Survivor Challenges Him on Gun-Control
Hundreds of thousands of anti-gun liberals took to the streets Saturday for mass protests in several cities across the country to demand strict gun control measures.
The March Against Our Rights, er, March For Our Lives in Washington D.C. was ostensibly led by some of the liberal media-adored student survivors of the Parkland, Florida school shooting — with some hefty financial and logistical help from several prominent left-wing organizations — chief among them student David Hogg.
But not all of the Parkland students are in favor of strict gun control as a solution to prevent mass shootings, most notably Kyle Kashuv, who instead of calling for ineffective and unconstitutional gun bans spent time speaking with legislators on both sides of the political aisle and helped get school safety legislation passed as part of the recent omnibus spending bill.
As these two students continue to emerge as leading young figures on both sides of the gun control issue, The Daily Wire reported that libertarianesque classical liberal political pundit Dave Rubin offered to moderate a civil debate on the issue between both of the students, after the idea was suggested by one of his Twitter followers.

Rubin noted that any proceeds raised would go toward charity and pointed out that Kashuv had already agreed to participate in such an event.

Kashuv added in a second tweet that he had sent a direct message to Hogg to ensure he saw the challenge that had been posed, and posted a screenshot of that message to let everyone know.
A quick review of Hogg’s Twitter timeline revealed that the outspoken anti-gun student has yet to publicly acknowledge or accept the challenge from his classmate Kashuv.
But as the tweet-trackers at Twitchy pointed out, that hasn’t stopped like-minded gun control advocates from taking on Kashuv themselves in the comment section of his post, and many of them were notably less than civil.
Kashuv was berated and belittled as his successful efforts at getting bipartisan school safety legislation passed were summarily dismissed by Hogg’s supporters, who apparently felt that “real change” would be achieved through anti-gun protest marches, or something.
He was also told that he represented a “minority” of Second Amendment supporters who would eventually be overwhelmed by the supposedly numerically superior anti-gun crowd, and was told he should just get on board and support Hogg’s ideas … if he really wanted to stop school shootings from happening.
The truth is, such a debate on the gun control issue as proposed is unlikely to happen, as it is highly doubtful that Hogg will accept the offer from Rubin or challenge from Kashuv.
It had been shown in a previous back-and-forth on Twitter that while Kashuv has taken the time to study and inform himself of what gun laws are already in existence — as well as their effectiveness — Hogg has done little more than regurgitate a variety of liberal talking points and displayed no real knowledge of the issue.
This proposed debate between Kashuv and Hogg would be great to see, but we won’t be holding our breath waiting for it to happen anytime soon, if ever at all.
