Hogg Issues Jaw-Dropping Statement About Blacks

Share

Some of our readers may be familiar with the phrase “soft bigotry of low expectations,” which in essence is a subtle or subconscious form of prejudice where expectations in regard to the achievements and behaviors of minorities and disadvantaged communities are lower than they would normally be for others.

Though they will vociferously deny it, this sort of soft bigotry is a hallmark of many liberals. Moreover, it was put on display by Parkland student David Hogg during a Twitter live stream event on Monday.

“We aren’t pushing a liberal or conservative agenda here,” Hogg ludicrously stated, according to Independent Journal Review. “We are pushing an agenda to save lives and the future of America.”

That of course is patently false, as Hogg and his fellow anti-gun Parkland students are indeed pushing a liberal agenda of gun control.

But Hogg and his friends also appear to be pushing the liberal agenda of racial identity politics and the concept of “white privilege,” which he seemingly lamented even as he proceeded to state that he must use the “privilege” he possesses as a rich white male to speak on behalf of minorities who are apparently unable to do so themselves.

As pointed out by Real Clear Politics, Hogg insinuated that if the mass shooting that took place at his school had occurred in a poor black community instead of his more affluent and predominately white community, the mainstream media wouldn’t have cared as much. Moreover, he said the minority victims of gun violence wouldn’t have been presented the same opportunity to speak out, “no matter how well those people spoke.”

“I think one of the greatest obstacles that we’ve faced though with this movement is the fact that there is a lot of racial disparity in the way that this is covered,” Hogg asserted.

“If this happened in a place of a lower socioeconomic status or a place where, like a black community, no matter how well those people spoke, I don’t think the media would cover it the same and I think it’s important that we point that out as Americans we realize that,” he continued.

“Because we have to use our white privilege now to make sure that all of the voices that — all of the people that have died as the result of this and haven’t been covered the same can now be heard. It’s sad, but it’s true,” Hogg added.

His friend and fellow Parkland student Cameron Kasky followed that up with a similar statement.

“The spotlight is on us and it’s awful and it’s a horrible thought that it’s that we’re an affluent community, that’s why initially people followed this so closely. Because this happens every day other places,” Kasky said.

Do you think liberal students like David Hogg should keep their assertions of "white privilege" to themselves?

Let’s set aside for a moment the blatantly absurd assertion that “this happens everyday in other places,” as it is simply untrue that there are mass shootings in schools every day, despite the twisted and inflated numbers presented by agenda-pushing liberal media outlets.

Hogg and Kasky seem to assume that the only reason they have been showered with attention by the liberal media in the wake of the horrific mass shooting at their school is because they are rich and white.

If there is any truth to that assertion, it speaks directly to the soft bigotry of the liberal media themselves, but that is another issue.

In asserting their “white privilege” has granted them the opportunity to speak out against gun violence, they are in essence presuming to speak for minority victims who they believe are incapable of speaking for themselves.

We can only wonder how the Black Lives Matter movement feels about these rich, white, liberal males speaking on behalf of poor minority victims of gun violence, as they seemed to not look too fondly upon such sanctimonious presumption from “white allies” over the past few years.
