People Eating Tasty Animals: Gordon Ramsay Under Fire for Hilarious Statement Against PETA

Share

If you have ever had the “joy” of meeting a vegan, you would definitely know it, as A) they won’t stop talking about their “fabulous” animal-product-free lifestyle choice, and B) they won’t stop chastising you for your neanderthal meat-eating ways.

It should come as no surprise that the outspoken, foul-mouthed Brit and celebrity chef extraordinaire Gordon Ramsay is no big fan of veganism, as he prefers protein to be the key feature in his incredible dishes.

Thus, while snowflake vegans may have been melting down, Ramsay’s fans weren’t shocked at all to see that he took a well-deserved shot at both vegans and the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals advocacy group on social media, according to the U.K. Daily Mail.

A Twitter user posted a picture of their vegan lasagna and asked for Ramsay’s take on it, and he didn’t disappoint with a response that read, “I’m a member of PETA ! People eating tasty animals……”

The tweet from Ramsay received nearly 150,000 “likes” and more than 44,000 retweets, meaning his opinion is shared by many, but the militant vegans, anti-meat eaters and actual PETA supporters were enraged and offended, as usual.

Even PETA itself got into the mix and tweeted, “Oh, dear, Gordon. We’ve heard that old line before. While you’re spending time mocking the future #vegan we’re betting you one day become, most chefs are exploring healthy, animal- & environment-friendly #PlantBased dishes.”

They followed that tweet with a couple of others that mocked his “Hell’s Kitchen” as being strewn with corpses like a slaughterhouse and encouraged him to “open both your mouth and your mind” to what he had been “missing” with the vegan diet.

But as stated, Ramsay is a fan of protein, which is sorely lacking in the vegan lifestyle department, so it is highly unlikely that the chef will be ditching meat any time soon, if ever.

The U.K. Independent pointed out that this wasn’t the first time Ramsay has taken a shot at vegans and their animal-product-free lifestyle.

In 2016, the chef was asked by a fan if he was allergic to anything, and Ramsay jokingly replied, “Vegans,” which prompted an outcry and compelled him to issue a minor “correction” to his initial statement: “It’s a joke jack it’s not vegans! It’s vegetarians.”

Nor is this the first time Ramsay has tangled with PETA, as they took issue with him for featuring a chimpanzee in an episode of Masterchef Junior in 2015 as well as his encouragement of eating horse meat in 2007 on his old British program The F-Word.

Sorry PETA, but we are with chef Ramsay on this one, in that we too thoroughly enjoy eating tasty animals, and view vegetables as little more than a side dish to our omnivorous diet.
