Like Father Like Son: Don Jr. Calls Memo Release "Sweet Revenge" in Hilarious Post-Memo Statement

Share

In an interview with Fox News on Saturday night, Donald Trump Jr. called the FISA memo released by the House Intelligence Committee on Friday “a little bit of sweet revenge” for his family amid the Russia probe.

The memo, the release of which was hotly contested, described alleged abuses in obtaining FISA warrants against members of Trump’s campaign team as well as a general anti-Trump atmosphere among top brass at the FBI, including deputy Director Andrew McCabe and counterintelligence Peter Strzok.

“There is a little bit of sweet revenge in it for me and certainly probably the family in a sense that if they wouldn’t have done this (triggered a congressional rule to release the memo), this stuff would be going on,” Trump said, according to the Washington Examiner.

“This would be going on at the highest levels of government. They’d be continuing to do it to my father, trying to undermine his actions.

“Imagine how effective he can be — given the year he’s had — without this cloud over his head.”

That’s the kind of imagining liberals are terrified of. And it explains a lot of the Democrats’ fake “resistance” since Trump was inaugurated.

It also explains a lot of the actions the intelligence committee’s memo describes.

The memo primarily dealt with the case of Trump adviser Carter Page and the role the unverified Trump dossier — a document financed by Hillary Clinton’s campaign — played in the FBI’s obtaining warrants against Page under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

“They weaponized the FBI and the DOJ to attack the duly elected president of the United States,” Trump Jr. said.

Do you think the memo vindicates President Trump?

As for special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia “collusion” probe, Trump Jr. didn’t mince words there either, calling it “rotten to the core,” adding that investigation into Russian collusion should “come to a conclusion already.”

If Trump Jr. was doing a victory lap over the memo, he was far from the only one:

President Trump even quoted the Wall Street Journal:

Of course, there won’t be a “conclusion already” to any part of the Russia investigation, no matter how thoroughly it’s been discredited by the memo or the fact that nobody seems to have found much pertaining to Russia or real collusion.

Even though the memo’s release won’t stop the left from trying, however, it seems Trumps of all ages are feeling awfully vindicated by it.
