Breaking: Hill Investigators Going After FBI Trump-Hater Peter Strzok

Share

GOP-led committees in the House and Senate have launched investigations into whether former members of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation team purposefully leaked information to the media last year.

The probes concern FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and bureau lawyer Lisa Page, both of whom worked on Mueller’s team up until this past summer, The Hill reported.

After Mueller learned that the two had sent text messages during the summer of 2016 in which they appeared to discuss ways to prevent then-GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump from being elected president, Mueller reassigned Strzok to the FBI’s human resources division. Page, who reportedly briefly worked on Mueller’s team, returned to the FBI as well.

According to The Hill, we now know that some of the text messages exchanged by Strzok and Page suggested “they knew in advance about an article in The Wall Street Journal and would need to feign stumbling onto the story so it could be shared with colleagues.”

“Article is out, but hidden behind paywall so can’t read it,” Page reportedly texted Strzok on Oct. 24, 2016.

“Wsj? Boy that was fast,” Strzok replied. “Should I ‘find’ it and tell the team?”

The Hill noted that the two then “discussed how they might make it appear they innocently discovered the article, such as through Google News alerts.”

“I can get it like I do every other article that hits any Google News alerts, seriously,” Strzok wrote, reportedly adding that he didn’t want his co-workers to learn about the article “from someone else.”

It’s unclear what article by The Wall Street Journal the two had referenced, though that’s besides the point. The more pressing concern is that two members of America’s top law enforcement agency apparently colluded in some way, shape or form with the nation’s most powerful media entities.

According to The Hill, Strzok and Page also spent a considerable amount of time prior to the 2016 presidential election attempting to track down confidential information about Matt Apuzzo, a reporter for The New York Times who’s since written countless stories about the phony investigation into Russian collusion.

“We got a list of kids with their parents’ names. How many Matt Apuzzo’s (sic) could there be in DC,” Page reportedly wrote, according to The Hill. “Showed J a picture, he said he thinks he has seen a guy who kinda looks like that, but always really schlubby. I said that sounds like every reporter I have ever seen.”

Strzok reportedly wrote back, “He’s TOTALLY schlubby. Don’t you remember?”

Page then responded by revealing she had just found information on Apuzzo’s wife as well.

It wasn’t clear what they needed the information for, but considering the context, it sounds awfully suspicious.

Fox News confirmed Tuesday that members of Congress are now “are reviewing the texts and looking to speak with the FBI officials.”

“The House Intelligence Committee is in the process of scheduling eight witnesses including Strzok and Page,” Fox noted.

Good. That said, House Oversight Commitee chair Trey Gowdy is not necessarily surprised by the initial findings.

“I’d love to tell you I’m surprised that someone at the FBI may have been leaking, but I’m not,” he told Fox News host Martha MacCallum on Tuesday, adding that former FBI Director James Comey did the same thing last year by leaking his personal memos to the media.

Exactly. Everything about the Justice Department under former President Barack Obama reeked of corruption, and that includes the FBI.

Let’s be clear here: These are remarkably disturbing texts, especially given the source. These weren’t just two random nut jobs (I’m looking at you, Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi), but law enforcement officials with great power at their disposal.

Had Hillary Clinton won the election, this corruption may have remained hidden forever. But with President Donald Trump, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the GOP-run Congress leading the charge, the corruption is finally being exposed.
