RINO Chris Christie Orders Confiscation from Gun Stores on Last Day in Office

Share

There’s nothing more irritating than a Republican in name only who walks and talks just like a Democrat. One such RINO is none other than now-former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

As one of his last acts in office, he solidified his standing as one of the most left-leaning Republicans ever by signing a piece a legislation that looks like it came off the desk of a Democrat.

According to The Washington Free Beacon, Christie signed a law Tuesday outlawing the sale and possession of the now-notorious bump-fire stocks as well as some other firearm accessories.

But if that isn’t bad enough, the law, which goes into effect immediately, requires that those who have a bump-fire stock to “surrender it to a law enforcement agency within the next 90 days.” Additionally, manufacturers and retailers must do the same within 30 days.

Really? Who would have thought that a Republican governor would start confiscating gun accessories?

It doesn’t stop there, though. Those who fail to comply with this new law face three to five years in prison, a fine of up to $15,000, or even the possibility of both.

Welcome to New Jersey, home of the gun-grabbers.

Of course, liberals are using the massacre that happened in Las Vegas as an excuse to pass this law. The legislation itself even mentioned the shooting, saying, “On October 1, 2017, Stephen Paddock opened fire on an outdoor venue in Las Vegas, Nevada killing 59 people and injuring at least 530 people in the deadliest mass shooting in the United States’ modern history.”

It then goes after the bump stock specifically, stating, “According to recent news reports, the rifles found in the gunman’s hotel room were modified with a bump stock.”

Do you think bump stocks should be illegal?

Even Nico Bocour, a state legislative director for another would-be gun-grabber, Gabby Giffords, said, “Bump stocks played a major role in turning a Las Vegas concert into a tragedy. Ever since the massacre we have called on elected leaders to step up and take action on bump stocks to help reduce gun violence. New Jersey’s move to take bump stocks off the streets is a win for the public safety of communities in the state. With Congress dragging its feet, states like New Jersey and Massachusetts are leading the way to ensure that bump stocks don’t fall into the wrong hands. We applaud them for showing courage and setting an example that other states can follow.”

Sure, a sick man happened to fire the gun, but let’s just blame the bump stocks. If it weren’t for bump stocks, people wouldn’t have been killed, right? I don’t think so.

Rest assured that if a sick man wants to lay waste to a bunch of people, he is going to find a way to do it. Bad guys will find a way to get illegal weapons, period. So when you take away guns from the good guys, you’re left with the bad guys holding the weapons.

While the NRA believes that “devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations,” it doesn’t believe that completely confiscating them is the way to go.

Fortunately for the country, Christie is out as governor, but the damage has already been done.
