A chilling video released by Syria’s Al-Qaeda affiliate, the Al-Nusra Front, captured a young suicide bomber’s last moments before he killed himself in an armored vehicle explosion on Friday.
The bomber, Jafar al-Tayyar from the area of Uzbekistan, was in his early 20s and fought for the Al-Nusra Front fighters, according to Radio Free Europe.
The video shows other militants giving al-Tayyar hugs and “thumbs up” symbols before he climbed into an armored vehicle loaded down with explosives.
Al-Tayyar was visibly anxious about what he was about to do and eventually began to cry uncontrollably as he realized he was facing the end of his life.
His fear is understandable, but the shocking part of this story occurs when he said, “I’m just scared I won’t succeed.”
Other fighters reassured him, saying, “Jafar, my brother, don’t be afraid. When you are scared, remember Allah.”
Al-Tayyar then drove away and, a few minutes later, the video showed a large explosion taking place. The video was allegedly filmed and released in order to glorify al-Tayyar as a martyr.
Al-Tayyar’s attack was part of an assault on the town of Fua, in which seven suicide attacks like Al-Tayyar’s were carried out along with 200 rockets being fired. The Al-Nusra Front was reportedly the main force behind the attack.
It remains unknown how many people were killed in the attack.
Take a look at the video below but be warned — it is disturbing.
This footage is shocking and it demonstrates what we are up against in the war on terrorism.
We need to wake up before it is too late.
