Though it hasn’t been mentioned near as much as some people would prefer, the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, which claimed the lives of four Americans, still weighs heavily on many people’s minds.
Mark Geist, a former Marine turned private security contractor, was one of those who survived that fateful night, and he recently shared some of his thoughts on the matter with conservative talk radio host Rusty Humphries of Trending Today USA of the USA Radio Network, a sister company to Conservative Tribune.
Geist began by talking about his support for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump before moving on to discuss the film adaptation of his book “13 Hours” about the Benghazi attack, delivering high praise to director Michael Bay for the excellent job he had done in accurately telling the tale.

About halfway through the interview, Humphries asked Geist what he would say if given the opportunity to speak face-to-face with Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton, who was head of the State Department at the time of the deadly assault on an American diplomatic compound in the heart of a dangerous city overrun by radical Islamists.
Initially at a loss for words as to what he might say, given that he had never really thought he’d ever have a chance to speak to her, Geist stated that he would ask, “Why didn’t you send the Marines?”
He noted that she seemed more worried about offending the Libyans than protecting American lives, pointing out the fact that there was a quick reaction force of anti-terrorism Marines within range of Benghazi that should have been immediately dispatched to intervene.

Humphries, in his worst shrill impersonation of Clinton, sarcastically asked, “Mark, what difference at this point does it make? I’m running for president, why does this bother you?”
After a quick chuckle, Geist responded by asking, “Why would you sit there and lie to American families who sacrificed their lives for you to be in the position you are in?”
“And why should I or any other American out there vote for you when your integrity and honesty and commitment to the people is overshadowed by your commitment to being president and the person in charge?”
He proceeded to note that Clinton has never truly taken responsibility for her role in Benghazi, pointing out how important taking responsibility is to those in the Marine Corp, regardless of the outcome for which one is deemed responsible.
Geist also touched on Clinton’s private email server scandal and the handling of classified information, remarked that he was “disappointed and angry” with the manner in which some politicians have treated the entire Benghazi debacle, and questioned how Clinton was able to amass hundreds of millions of dollars while being a “civil servant.”

You can listen to the entire interview right here. The portion relevant to his comments to Clinton begins around the 5:35 mark.
This survivor of the Benghazi attack has remained “disappointed and angry” regarding the failure of our nation’s leaders in relation to the 2012 terror attack, and has some serious questions for Hillary Clinton on that topic that she would rather ignore or condescendingly dismiss as no big deal.
Except Benghazi is still a big deal for many Americans, and it would be great if someone like Mark Geist were able to have a few moments alone with Hillary Clinton to ask straightforward questions about her role in Benghazi that have yet to be sufficiently answered.
