Anti-Columbus Day protesters who blocked traffic and then surrounded a pickup truck in Reno, Nevada, reportedly threatening the driver with bodily harm, received a brutal surprise this Monday.
The frustrated driver finally had enough of the threats and decided to pummel his way through the angry crowd, leaving several injured people in his truck’s wake.
It was a brutal scene to behold, but whether or not the driver deserved criminal liability for the injuries sustained by the protesters had not yet been decided by local authorities.

Also graphic in nature were the sick threats made against the driver.
“I’ll f–k you up,” yelled one protester.
“I’ll tear you out of that car, you little f–k,” said another protester.
It was not until one of the protesters reportedly attempted to open the driver’s door that the driver finally slammed the gas pedal and hauled himself out of there.
The irony was that after the altercation occurred, it was the protesters who complained of intolerance and alleged racism.
“This is a hate crime,” lead protester Quanah Brightman kvetched to the Reno Gazette Journal, as if unaware that the ones caught making threats were his peers, not the driver. “It’s still brutal to see this kind of racism in America. That man deserves life (in prison) for what he did.”
Despite the foolishness of this sordid affair, the Reno Police Department reportedly launched an investigation and promised to “hold anyone responsible accountable for their actions,” as Mayor Hillary Schieve expressed it.
Moreover, Reno Police Chief Jason Soto said his department had identified the driver. We’ll see what happens.
