This war veteran became a viral sensation after he decided to leave home to fight against the Islamic State group, and his posts are sure to have your rooting for the allies. This is absolutely epic!
Looking for a new Instagram page to follow? Look no further than “Mike.” He’s an otherwise anonymous Norwegian war veteran who left the comfort of his life in Scandinavia to take up arms and fight against the Islamic State group in Iraq.
Since his real name is unknown, he’s been been affectionately dubbed “Mike” by the Norwegian press.
You will soon understand why the media is so affectionate. Mike left his job with the Norwegian military in January 2015 to volunteer for the Kurdish Peshmerga military forces in the fight against Islamic State group terrorists. Now he posts often of their victories.

“My goal is to be a part of fighting the ISIS terrorists,” he told a Norwegian newspaper in an interview in January. “I don’t know when the offensive against Mosul starts, but I am ready.”
He got his opportunity and he now regularly shares images of Islamic State group fighters the Peshmerga kills, as well as videos from the battlefield by Mosul Dam. A popular video, posted on March 30, showed how Mike and the Peshmerga set one of the terrorist’s armored personnel carriers on fire.
“We were attacked by ISIS,” he said in a statement. “The battle lasted several hours, until we (eliminated) the terrorists.”

No one knows the true identity of Mike, making this Viking hero even more mysterious. However, it is said that he came to Norway as an Iraqi Kurdish refugee at a young age in the 1980s, then served with Norwegian forces in Afghanistan.
Now, he has returned to his place of birth … and all hell is breaking loose.
“When we’ve run Islamic State out of Mosul, it will mark the death of Islamic terrorists in Iraq,” he said. “Then I’ve done my part. Then I’ll go home to Norway for good.”
This is justice in its most beautiful form.
