Despite the mainstream media and the left’s refusal to identify what happened in New York and New Jersey this weekend, the bombings were terrorism and now we know that they could have been even worse.
The New York Daily News reported that police and New Jersey officials said that they found multiple pipe bombs and devices — five total — in a garbage can on Sunday that showed just how much worse these terror attacks had the potential to be.

About 9:30 p.m., two men at an Elizabeth, New Jersey, train station found a backpack sitting in a trash can according to Elizabeth Mayor Chris Bollwage.
“They noticed a package in a wastebasket,” the mayor told reporters. “They took the package out of the wastebasket because they thought it was of some value to them.”
Once the men realized that the bag had wires and a pipe, they dropped it on the ground and alerted the police about what they found.
An FBI robot was brought to the scene to dismantle the bomb, but and after it cut one of the wires, the device unexpectedly detonated. There were no reported injuries.
Bollwage noted the gravity of the situation: “Based on the loudness, I think people could have been severely hurt or injured if they were in the vicinity if that went off … [I]t could have severely injured, maimed or killed many, many people.”
Four devices remain to be detonated, but in order to keep the public safe after the dangerous situation with the first bomb, the rest will be taken to the Middlesex Fire Academy and then transferred by the FBI to a lab in Quantico, Virginia.
Ahmad Khan Rahami, a naturalized citizen from Afghanistan, was detained by police after a shootout Monday morning according to Fox News. It was reported by the Linden, New Jersey mayor’s office that one officer was shot and another suffered a head injury. The suspect was also injured.
As Bollwage said of the perpetrators who placed the bombs near the train station: “they have no value on human life.”
That is absolutely true, and is exactly why the United States needs to name the threat of radical Islamic terror — and face it head on.
