From the moment he began his ultimately successful presidential campaign, President-elect Donald Trump has fought back against the forces of political correctness.
One key front in this battle has been the “War on Christmas,” and Trump has raged against that progressive assault by repeatedly vowing to eschew the “happy holidays” phrase favored by “inclusive” PC liberals while insisting the term “Merry Christmas” once again be broadly used by the American public, according to CNN.
During one of his many appearances in Iowa over the campaign season, Trump addressed political correctness and the War on Christmas and put into words exactly how he planned on winning it.

“This whole thing with political correctness, and I always say, you don’t see Merry Christmas anymore, right? Because it’s not politically correct,” Trump told the crowd. “Guess what folks, when I win, if I win, when I win, whatever, I will tell you, we’re going to all be saying ‘Merry Christmas’ again, that I can tell you.”
Indeed, this wasn’t the only occasion in which Trump addressed the politically correct fight over the terms “happy holidays” and “Merry Christmas,” as The Daily Caller noted.

While speaking at the Values Voter Summit last September, Trump stated, “The word Christmas. I love Christmas. I love Christmas. You go to stores, you don’t see the word Christmas. It says happy holidays all over. I say, ‘Where’s Christmas?’ I tell my wife, ‘Don’t go to those stores.’ I want to see Christmas. I want to see Christmas.”
“Other people can have their holidays but Christmas is Christmas,” he added. “I want to see Merry Christmas. Remember the expression Merry Christmas? You don’t see it anymore! You’re going to see it if I get elected, I can tell you right now.”
To be sure, Trump will need a lot of help from his supporters and those who treasure Christmas as much as him to push back against the never-relenting forces of the left that would just as soon see Christmas done away with altogether, at least the Christian aspect of the holiday.

But if there is indeed a concerted effort by the American people to insist on saying “Merry Christmas” instead of “happy holidays” throughout the Christmas season, it is possible that, with the people’s help, Trump could very well win this war against Christmas.
