A peaceful protest against the “limousine liberal” bias of the Oscars ended with two “peaceful” liberal women attacking a female supporter of President Donald Trump on camera because, well, why the heck not?
The big news coming out of Sunday’s Academy Awards, aside from the desultory Trump-bashing, was Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty accidentally revealing the wrong winner for Best Picture, saying “La La Land” had won it before accurately reporting the real winner, “Moonlight.”
It’s almost like they wanted to steal the award for “La La Land.” Who do they think they are, Bonnie and Clyde? (Thank you, I’ll be here all week. Please, no throwing bottles.)
While nobody at the Academy probably felt too good about the Oscars turning into Warren Beatty’s most embarrassing starring role since “Ishtar,” I can think of two people who were perfectly happy for the gaffe to be the clip most people remember from Sunday in Los Angeles.
Those are two nameless individuals who decided to attack a woman participating in a protest against liberal Hollywood that stemmed from a boycott by the Tempe Republican Women and was caught on video.
According to the U.K. Daily Mail, the small anti-Oscars protest happened in Hollywood. The two women were shown first grabbing the protester’s sign and breaking it in half and then attacking her with the brutal slaps of someone whose fighting knowledge doesn’t go beyond one sixth-grade incident that got them suspended.
Love trumps hate. Unless you’re a peaceful Trump supporter. Then it’s slap-fight time!
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this sort of deplorable bullying levied against “the deplorables.” Milo Yiannopoulos — before his um, incidents — saw his supporters or anyone who might even want to witness his speeches attacked with the fury of a thousand snowflakes — armed with deadly weapons, since snowflakes aren’t terribly good with their hands. Gavin McInnes and his supporters suffered the same fate at NYU.
The people at the anti-Oscars protest were supporting nothing as controversial as what Milo or McInnes have been supporting. The fact that they were met with the same disgusting thuggery proves that certain elements of the left are incapable of debate.
They don’t want a free exchange of ideas and the right to protest, as they claim when they gum up town halls with their self-righteous astroturfed nonsense. They want to see their opinions echoed by everyone else. If that’s impossible, they want to silence those who disagree, by force if necessary.
“The left is now up to their old tricks trying to bully the rest of us into feeling guilty. Let them know that their selfish, vulgar, and unpatriotic behavior over this past week will not be tolerated,” Tempe Republican Women said in the post that announced the boycott associated with this protest. “Let them know that we will not be silenced and that we are no longer going to be shamed for what we believe.”
We won’t — and nor will we shy away from showing that bullying. Please like and share on Facebook and Twitter if you agree.
