Countering the perpetual attacks from Democrats and their allies in the liberal media that he is unknowledgeable and unserious about military matters, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump released Wednesday a blueprint for how he would rebuild and strengthen the U.S. Armed Forces.
According to The Hill, one of the most important components of Trump’s plan for the military was the elimination of the budget sequester put in place by President Barack Obama and Congress that has arbitrarily constrained military spending.
In addition to restoring previous levels of spending by the Department of Defense, Trump indicated that he would call for an expansion of all branches of service.

Based on recommendations from the Army chief of staff, the Heritage Foundation and National Defense Panel, Trump proposed increasing the Army’s troop levels to roughly 540,000, the Marine Corps to 36 battalions, the Naval fleet to approximately 350 ships and submarines, and the Air Force to 1,200 fighter jets, all with the requisite support units.
Furthermore, Trump called for a new effort toward building up and modernizing our nation’s missile defense systems, as well as a review of the country’s vulnerabilities to cyber-warfare.
In addition, he stated that within 30 days of taking office, he would seek out solid plans from military leadership for destroying the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria, along with other radical Islamic terrorist organizations in other locations around the globe.

Despite accusations to the contrary from his rivals and haters, Trump has a serious view toward meeting the military’s needs, bolstering national security, and keeping the peace through superior strength and firepower.
There is a reason why Trump is the most popular candidate among military service members, and this plan to strengthen the military following years of dangerously drastic cuts only goes to show why.
