Special Operations Petty Officer 1st Class Carl Higbie was disgusted by the politicization of the military that he caught a first-hand glimpse of during his time of service.
Part of what enraged the young SEAL was watching fellow soldiers being killed in combat while following “obsolete,” but “required” orders in Iraq, along with the treatment several of his fellow SEALS received after being accused of abusing Ahmed Hashim Abed, accusations Higbie says are false.
Rather than stand by as these policies, instituted by the Obama administration and liberals in the government, continued to claim lives, Higbie decided to write a book about them, calling for more accountability for individuals in positions of leadership within the military.
At first, Higbie attempted to do the right thing and submit the manuscript to his command to be reviewed, but they refused to read the book, being more concerned about the potential fallout it could have on their careers than fighting corruption and injustice.
Higbie himself was threatened with a dishonorable discharge if he attempted to publish the book, so he decided to place country above career, retire from the SEALS, and get the book out to the public.
Once Battle on the Homefront: A Navy SEAL’s Mission to Save the American Dream was published in 2012, a seemingly unhappy Obama administration started putting the squeeze on Higbie, downgrading his honorable discharge to a general discharge, no doubt a punishment for speaking out against the president and his failed policies.
According to Breitbart, after a two-year legal battle, his general discharge was upgraded to honorable status, but the message was clear: There are consequences for fighting against “progress.”
Higbie stated that despite being “punished” for fighting against the agenda of progressive politicians, he’s still calling for military accountability, and that he’s willing to take whatever consequences come along with speaking out against Obama’s corruption.
“I have put my country in front of my career. I did not like the idea that my career was going to suffer because of my book, but someone had to speak out. Almost everyone is a patriot behind closed doors, but real patriots are those who are willing to step out from behind those doors and speak out.”
The former SEAL wants the government held accountable for politicizing his call for accountability in the military, to force those on Capitol Hill to work toward improving and fixing the armed forces.
Higbie has attempted to take this fight to the next level by running for Congress as a Republican, but was not able to obtain enough Delegates to be placed on the ballot.
The treatment this former SEAL received at the hands of the Obama administration is an outrageous violation of the First Amendment. It’s illegal to use threats and punishments to silence someone from voicing their opposition to those in political power.
Although the American people should need no further proof of the corrupt nature of Barack Obama, this should be enough to open someone’s eyes as to why the impeachment of the president is a critical step that’s needed to restore law and order back to our country.
