One of President Barack Obama’s earliest promises when he was elected was to close down the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, because its very existence supposedly enraged Muslims against the United States.
So far Congress has been able to stop Obama from relocating Gitmo detainees to the United States (apparently many states don’t like the idea of housing terrorists), but that hasn’t stopped him from finding another way to close down the infamous prison.
Fox News reported that in what is the single largest release of prisoner from Gitmo ever, 15 detainees will be sent to the United Arab Emirates. The group set to be released included 12 Yemeni nationals and three Afghans, one of whom admitted to planting anti-tank mines in an attempt to blow up U.S. troops.

Apparently our government believes these people don’t want to hurt us anymore. If history is anything to go by, at least some of these detainees will go back to committing terrorist activities.
Thanks, Obama!
“The continued operation of the detention facility weakens our national security by draining resources, damaging our relationships with key allies and partners, and emboldening violent extremists,” explained the State Department’s special envoy for Guantanamo’s closure, Lee Wolosky.

Obama and his liberal friends simply don’t understand that when fighting a group of people who will literally do anything they can to kill you, you can’t afford to play nice. They also apparently don’t understand that violent extremists were already plenty “emboldened” when they attacked the Twin Towers on 9/11 — long before the Gitmo detention facility even existed.
Donald Trump understands that though. He has promised to keep Gitmo open and to reauthorize the use of waterboarding in order to get information from terrorists who mean to do us harm.
It is almost impossible to imagine a President Trump (don’t those two words together just make you smile?) closing down the detention facility, let alone releasing dozens of extremists back into their native habitat.
It is, however, fairly easy to image a President Hillary Clinton doing that, which is why we can’t let her into the White House. There’s too much at stake for us to take a risk with Clinton.
