The horrific Bastille Day attack has killed at least 84 people in Nice, according to Fox News. The attack happened as spectators were watching fireworks to celebrate the holiday; a tractor-trailer was driven at high speed into the crowd.
After continuing for some time, the driver finally stopped and started shooting. He was then killed by authorities.
While there has been no confirmation yet that the terrorist attack could be linked back to the Islamic State group or was Islamist in nature, France has been a known hub for the Islamic State group and the driver of the truck has been identified as a Tunisian national with French citizenship, according to the U.K. Daily Mail.
It was a horrible night, but one story of human bravery emerged: a motorcycle rider who selflessly disregarded his own safety to try and stop the truck.
While it’s unclear when this video was taken in terms of the attack, police seem to be chasing after the truck, which was speeding down the promenade. Therefore, it’s reasonable to assume that this happened after the terrorist had already claimed some of his victims. (WARNING: GRAPHIC)
As you can see from the video, the motorcyclist comes alongside the truck and tries to latch on to the side. Even though the terrorist is armed, the motorcyclist still persists in trying to get into the tractor-trailer.
The truck eventually disappears behind some trees, so we can’t see what happens. However, the screams of those in the way of the truck can be clearly heard. Eventually, the driver was shot dead by police, although that is not on the video.
For all the terrorist attacks in the world, we should remind ourselves of one important thing: there are a lot more people like the man on that motorcycle than there are terrorists.
It’s time to fight them like the scourge that they are. If they want to hit us, let’s hit back twice as hard. Please like and share on Facebook and Twitter if you agree.
