At China’s Badaling Wildlife World, an elderly woman was killed by Siberian tigers while her daughter was seriously injured — and almost too much was captured on video.
In a truly startling closed-circuit television clip of a safari tour, a young woman exited the right side of a vehicle. She proceeded to be completely oblivious of her surroundings, annoyed by an altercation that took place in the car between a male driver and her mother in the backseat, and stormed to the other side of the car, according to SCMP.
Don’t blink or you’ll miss what happens next — the young woman turned around and a tiger was right on her, pawing and dragging her out of sight.
The horrified man leaped out of the driver seat, hesitated, and then charged at the tiger. While that happened, the elderly woman in the back also hopped out of the car to aid her daughter.
Near the end of the video, a covered Jeep took off across the road, trying to contain the incident as best as possible. Wild animals can be dangerous.
With all that being said, the most disturbing part of the story was that the elderly woman — the one who jumped out last — was the one who was mauled by another tiger that came by later.
She was killed due to the overbearing stupidity of her own daughter — who was seriously injured, but was expected to survive. The man was her husband, and some of his friends said their family thought they had already left the wildlife facility, when indeed, they hadn’t.
Whatever the cause may be, one thing to take away from this incident is that high-strung emotions can — and most definitely should — be handled with resolve. If not, you just never know what might happen to you.
