Andrew Follett, a George Mason University graduate with extensive experience in policy research, has compiled a list of five job-killing Environmental Protection Agency regulations that President-elect Donald Trump could immediately modify or even eliminate when he steps into office.
1. In a piece written for The Daily Caller, Follett started with a batch of ozone rules implemented last year that required every county in the United States “to cut ozone from 75 to 70 parts per billion by 2025.”
According to the National Association of Manufacturers, the rules could wind up costing the country 1.4 million jobs and $1.7 trillion in forgone economic activity between 2017 and 2040.

“It’s not just manufacturers who will bear this burden — Americans across the country will feel the costs of this expensive new regulation,” NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons said in the following video published last year:
2. Passed in 2015, the EPA’s Clean Power Plan also could cost the economy bundles of money: $479 billion by 2013, in fact, according to a study by the Pacific Research Institute.

“The average American’s electricity bill would rise by more than 10 percent as a result of CPP,” Follett noted.
3. The same applied to the EPA’s burdensome methane rules, which Follett noted “would only cause a (marginal) temperature drop of 0.0047 degrees Celsius by the year 2100” while also making it more difficult to produce natural gas.
4. Follett then focused his attention on the EPA’s attempts to acquire regulatory control over every body of water in America. The organization hoped to do this by replacing the phrase “navigable waters” in the Clean Water Act with “waters of the United States.”
“The stakes are particularly high for farmers and ranchers, who would have to spend time and money obtaining EPA permits to continue using their own land,” he wrote.

5. Last but not least, Trump could stop the EPA from fining companies for not utilizing a certain set of bio-fuels that Follett claimed were not even commercially available yet. Even after a federal judge ordered the EPA to stop fining companies, it continued to do so anyway. This needs to stop.
