Indian father Parminder Singh has been accused of cutting off the hands of a teenager who reportedly molested his infant daughter.
(Note that, for the sake of the privacy of the child involved in this story, we’ve used only a stock photo on our website.)
In April of 2014, the teenager, who remained unnamed in media reports, was reportedly discovered molesting Singh’s 7-month-old daughter by her mother, according to Breitbart. He was charged in local courts later that year.
On Tuesday the teen appeared at the district court in Punjab, India, only to discover that his hearing was to be postponed, The Indian Express reported.
That apparently was too much for Singh, age 25.
Singh approached the teen and offered him a chance to reach some sort of settlement outside of court. The teen, now 17, accepted a ride from Singh back to town on the back of his motorbike.
That ride would nearly cost him his life.
According to authorities, Singh then took the teen to a canal where he tied him to a tree, beat him, cut him, and then cut off his hands, leaving him for dead.

He only survived because his screams were heard by passersby, and at that point, Singh was long gone; the only things left with the teen were his own hands.
He was rushed to a local hospital, but there was no saving his hands.
A senior police officer of Bathinda told Breitbart via phone, “There is nothing below the wrists now.”
“Locals alerted police and we rushed to the spot. We picked him up, his hands, and took him to the hospital,” he continued, noting that the teen was in stable condition.
Now, it’s extremely hard to endorse vigilantism, especially to this extreme. However, I have to imagine that it is equally hard to look at your infant daughter after such a brutal attack.
Singh is currently at large, with an arrest warrant for attempted murder out under his name.
