Clip Catches Beto Unhesitatingly OK Medically Unnecessary 3rd Trimester Abortions

Share

Democrat and 2020 presidential contender Robert “Beto” O’Rourke made it perfectly clear this week that he supports third-trimester abortions even in cases where there is no argument for medical necessity.

O’Rourke defended the barbaric policy of late-term abortion — the practice of “aborting” a baby anywhere from the 28th week of pregnancy up to moments before birth — at a campaign event in Cleveland on Monday.

“Are you for third-trimester abortions? Are you going to protect the lives of third-trimester babies?” a woman asked O’Rourke.

“Because there’s really not a medical necessity for abortion,” the woman continued.

“It’s not a medical emergency procedure because typically third-trimester abortions take up to three days to have… So are you for or against third-trimester abortion?”

Without hesitation, O’Rourke rephrased the question to the crowd as a question about “reproductive rights.”

“So the question is about abortion and reproductive rights,” O’Rourke said. “And my answer to you is that that should be a decision that the woman makes. I trust her.”

Do you think the pro-life cause is winning the abortion debate?

O’Rourke’s response is particularly sleazy because he failed to tell the crowd about the “medical necessity” portion of the question.

Regardless, the Democrat’s answer confirmed his sickening stance.

Let’s remove O’Rourke’s sugar coating. He believes it should be the mother’s decision to murder the baby moments before birth.

And this wasn’t a case of O’Rourke mishearing the woman’s question. He reiterated his stance the following day at Pennsylvania State University.

“I just want to make sure I have clarity,” a Washington Examiner reporter prefaced. “Yesterday, on abortion, you said it’s a woman right to choose, correct? Does that include up until the third trimester?”

“I think those decisions are best left to a woman and her doctor,” O’Rourke said. “I know better than to assume anything about a woman’s decision, an incredibly difficult decision, when it comes to her reproductive rights.”

The old left-wing phrase on abortion — “safe, legal, and rare” — is long gone. Democrats are openly supporting late-term abortions even when there is no apparent medical necessity for them.

Democrats have found themselves in the middle of a new, ferocious abortion debate after New York state passed a law legalizing abortions up to the moment of birth, and Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, a Democrat, openly talked about how the life of a baby who survived a third-trimester abortion could be at risk even after birth.

O’Rourke’s response might have just pushed him right into the middle of that.

But there is no debate about whether those “fetuses” moments before birth are human babies.

Late-term abortion is really infanticide, and it’s absolutely sickening that Democrats brazenly support the evil practice.
