A carjacker learned the hard way that it’s never a good idea to fire at police officers.
KCPQ reported that a carjacker in Seattle died after leading police on a wild chase through the city. The 35-year-old began his crime spree in downtown where he pointed handguns at people, carjacked three cars and shot at police.
“One officer attempted to disable the suspect’s vehicle by ramming it near Roosevelt and NE 45th Street. Dashcam video of the jarring collision shows an officer slamming his patrol car into the suspect’s vehicle, crushing the patrol car’s front end and pushing the Camaro into the intersection,” KCPQ reported.
Eventually officers put an end to the chase when one patrol car collided head-on with the Camaro that the suspect was driving, disabling the car and allowing officers to surround him.
The camaro had crashed into a car on the street, but the woman who was driving that car was able to escape from her vehicle before anything else happened to her.
Officers got out of their cars and pointed their weapons at the man in the car, who didn’t move for a while. Then, all of a sudden, the felon started to drive the car towards the officers.
Officers quickly opened fire, killing the driver instantly and putting an end to the wild chase. Thankfully, no one else was hurt in the car chase or the shootout.
It will always be baffling what drives people to go on crime sprees like this. People should know after all this time that these sorts of wild police chases virtually never end well for the people fleeing the police.
