The Council on American-Islamic Relations has come forth with a statement about the terror attack in San Bernardino that was so outlandish, it’s hard to take seriously.
Hussam Ayloush, the Los Angeles director of CAIR, told CNN that the United States is partially responsible for the attacks, because the West, and particularly America, has fueled extremism through its foreign policy.
“When we support coup leaders in Egypt or other places, when we supports dictatorship, oppressive regimes around the world that push people over on the edge, then they become extremists, then they become terrorists. We are partly responsible,” Ayloush said.

“Terrorism is a global problem, not a Muslim problem. And the solution has to be global. Everyone has a role in it,” he added.
He also said U.S. military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan served as “attacks against those people” and, as a result, stir up “fear of the Muslims.”

Ayloush is clearly little more than a jihadist sympathizer and CAIR, a declared terrorist organization in the United Arab Emirates, is known to have connections to radical Islamic groups.
Ayloush’s statement represents a growing mindset of Islamapologists across the world, and it couldn’t be further from the truth. The fact is that terrorism is a Muslim problem. The Chattanooga attack, the Boston bomb attack and the Paris attack are just a few examples of the terrorism carried out by radical Islamic actors.
For Ayloush to even hint that the West is responsible for these attacks is insulting and demonstrates just how terrorist front groups like CAIR are a threat to Western culture when their representatives spread these kinds of ideas.
Ayloush should lose his job for making such a suggestion– and he would, except that the leadership at CAIR apparently agrees with it.
