On Jan. 25, two Austin, Texas, drivers found themselves in a violent confrontation in the middle of the road. Both men pulled out weapons and struck at each other unmercifully in extreme road rage.
According to KTBC, Austin Police are very much aware of the events that unfolded that afternoon and are working on messages that will calm tensions of those stuck in traffic.
“Show that you’re a bigger person. If you get mad, just cool down,” said Officer William Costello of the Austin Police Department.
Here is the shocking video (Content Warning: Violence and Language):
Ironically, the incident occurred on Slaughter Lane, just off I-35 when a large man jumped out of his vehicle looking ready to pummel the other guy, but realized he had to park his truck first. You know, priorities.
He parked his car and then stormed to the back of his pickup truck and grabbed what was most likely the closest object — which happened to be a gigantic rod.
A battle ensued and they beat each other for about 15 seconds with their improved weapons.
Some lessons to be learned:
No. 1 — never start a fight with someone you’ve never seen. I’m sure the smaller guy’s adrenaline kicked into maximum levels when he saw the massive figure lunge out of the truck, grabbing an 8-foot pole.
No. 2 — always discipline your children. If you don’t, they’ll become these guys — don’t let them become these guys.
No. 3 — always arm and protect yourself. There are a lot of crazy people out there, as this video proves, and people need to know what to do when a thug approaches with a metal baseball bat.
Raging while driving is not something one should partake of.
