Brand new year, same old story: yet another terrorist attack, this time in Tel Aviv. And while the media tried to insinuate that the man who killed two Israelis was a “nationalist,” a quick search of the killer’s knapsack revealed otherwise.
According to The Times of Israel, the as-of-yet unidentified killer’s backpack was found with a Quran inside. Authorities are now investigating the incident as Islamist-inspired terrorism.
The incident, which killed two and wounded three, happened just before 3 p.m. Friday near the Dizengoff Center Mall, a popular local attraction. The gunman is seen on security camera buying nuts and dried fruit from a stand, then calmly withdrawing his gun and firing into a bar, a restaurant and a cafe.

One of the cafe staffers ran after the man following the attack, but he “disappeared” into one of Tel Aviv’s side streets.
However, his identity was made known to Israeli authorities, thanks to the attacker’s father, who recognized his son on the security camera footage. The father has also been questioned regarding his possible involvement in the attack.
The man has been previously known to Israeli authorities for reasons that are unfortunately predictable. He served a five-year sentence in an Israeli prison after stabbing an Israeli soldier with a screwdriver and trying to grab his weapon back in 2007.
Nati Shaked, a co-owner of the bar the shooter fired into, said that he saw “someone armed with an automatic rifle just walking in the street. He saw a lot of people here who he could shoot at, and started to shoot.”
“(He) shot everywhere. There was hysteria and chaos,” Shaked said.
Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai condemned the attack, saying terrorism “attempts to frighten us and disrupt our lives. I urge everyone to take a deep breath, relax, and we will take care of this.”
Unfortunately, the killer already left behind evidence as to why he carried out his sickening attacks. No matter how much the Obama administration deceives, inveigles and obfuscates, the evidence is still there, clear as day.
