President-elect Donald Trump is famously active on both Facebook and Twitter. Sometimes his social media presence stirs up controversy, but this time it seems to have been the right thing to say at the right time.
A post he published around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday quickly went viral, even by Trump standards: As of early Thursday afternoon, the short post had already garnered nearly 250,000 “likes” on Facebook.
What did he say that was so popular?

“My Administration will follow two simple rules: BUY AMERICAN and HIRE AMERICAN!”
It’s the same reason he won. (Well, one of many.) With Trump comes the promise of more jobs. That promise cannot be underestimated in an underperforming American economy.

Now, there’s a trick to buying American and hiring American, and we need to keep it in mind as we go forward into Trump’s “America first” administration.
Obviously, buying American is important. However, anyone could make the American people buy American, even Democrats. The catch is to enable corporations and businesses, big and small, to remain a competitive and viable force on the world market.
“Competitive” is the operative word here. We can’t prop up a business that’s “too big to fail” just because it’s American. Not only is that anti-capitalist, it’s a waste of our hard-earned money being pressed into service as tax dollars.
The trick is to make businesses competitive by removing unnecessary regulations, ones that other corporations on the world stage don’t have to deal with, and enabling them to become competitive forces unto themselves.

Removing unnecessary regulations and lowering corporate taxes makes products and services not only cheaper but more profitable as well.
It’s a win-win.
